As an outset let me state that whatever we achieve is only with the grace of Allah almighty. I am thankful to Allah for giving me the strength to discharge my responsibilities that I feel like I should share with you. First is the successful completion of my PhD even before the deadline to the extent that the thesis was recommended for Deans list by the examiners. Having shouldered part of the responsibility in tersm of contribution towards the Pakistani community is another consoling area. Whether it was in the capacity of a member, general secretary or president of Massey University Pakistani Students Association (MUPSA). Having extended a hand as and when I could to the MMS and MMA guys leaves me with no repentance inside. Sports has been another important aspect: having won couple of prizes in MMS sports gala is something worth mentioning. Being the best bowler and best batsman and man of the tournament in the cricket raised my confidence in myself. Facilitation of badminton activity on regular basis during my stay has given me a lot. All these experiences are treasures of my life as they gave me the opportunites to mix, mingle, explore and polish myself with the help of both the Muslim and non-Muslim community at Massey and Palmerston North. I owe them all a great deal of thanks.

Thoughts about Massey Islamic Center - To be honest, I happen to learn and explore a lot about Islam and Muslims at Massey University Islamic Centre. It allowed me to interact with and observe Muslims from other parts of the world. My approach towards things moderated and it was for the first time in my life that I acted as Imam. In my country, most of the time its Maulana who monopolizes the role and if we miss praying with Imam, we normally pray alone losing so many extra blessings. Thanks for giving me so much, I now have the confidence to ask others to pray in congregation rather individually if for some reason the Jumat has been missed out. The brotherly feeling and Iftar, I will miss a lot.
