Helping local communities: Fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common diseases of the central nervous system. One in every 1000 New Zealanders is diagnosed with MS. On Annual appeal day, 5th September, after Friday prayer, students at Massey University raised donations to support  "Manawatu Multiple Sclerosis society" who provide support, education and advocacy for people with Multiple Sclerosis, their carers and their families in our community. Pamphlets with information about MS was distributed among the students community thus raising awareness about it. MMS thanked Sandi Shillington, Campus Registrar of Massey University and Carolyn Soane from Multiple Sclerosis Central Districts Association (MSCD) for providing us with an opportunity to serve the local communities. Our efforts were appreciated by both Massey University and MSCD, and we look forward to do the same next year inshaAllah (Allah willing)
